Newcastle are set to make a £6million offer for Rangers keeper Allan McGregor.

Boss Kevin Keegan watched the 26-year-old star closely in Rangers' UEFA Cup campaign as he seeks to strengthen following a disappointing campaign last season.

While Rangers would be expected to reject a £6million bid, it is likely they would accept an offer in the region of £8-10million should Newcastle maintain their interest in McGregor.
