Newcastle United have made an improved bid for Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.
Chronicle Live says a Toon bid close to £50m for the midfielder has now been submitted as Newcastle try to tempt the Foxes to part company with the 25-year-old.
However, Leicester are insisting Maddison will not leave for less than £60m.
Holding back Newcastle are concerns over Financial Fair Play.
Leicester, meanwhile, have shown an interest in Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, with Foxes stopper Kasper Schmeichel set to join Nice.
