Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier believes they must attack Marcus Rashford on Sunday.

The Red Devils forward is in the form of his life at present, topping the scoring charts in Europe in 2023.

While Trippier knows that containing Rashford means they might lift the Carabao Cup trophy, he believes an offensive approach is the ideal one.

“It's going to be important, it's about the areas of the pitch where I can get tight and when I need to stand off," Tripper toldRio Ferdinand's Vibe with Five YouTube channel.

"But I can't be worrying about him, I need to make him chase me going back to his goal.

"I need to be on the front foot, I need to be positive in my thinking about pushing back and I need to keep him pinned back as much as I can so he's not a threat near our goal.

“It's going to be hard, it's going to be difficult but I'll do everything I can to make him follow me, track me back."
