Newcastle United fullback Danny Simpson is looking forward to facing form club Manchester United.

Newcastle's former Manchester United full-back returns to Old Trafford for the first time hoping to keep Toon's brilliant start to the season on track.

Simpson, 24, said: "I had a bit of banter with Patrice Evra because me and Gabby Obertan will be against him.

"Just a bit of a laugh saying we're going to beat you down our side.

"It was hard to leave but I knew it was right time to move on.

"We are a good hard working team with players who can score so there is no reason not to go there, take the game to them and see how they react."
