Newcastle fighting to keep Leeds target Wood

Newcastle United have played down suggestions that striker Chris Wood will move in January.

The centre-forward, signed from Burnley a year ago, is a bit part player under manager Eddie Howe.

While he has got game time recently, Wood would not be a starter if both Callum Wilson and summer signing Alexander Isak are fit.

Football Insider claims that Leeds United want to bring Wood back to the club.

However, Chronicle Live counters that report, stating that Newcastle are not interested in selling.

The Magpies are in contention for a top four finish, and do not want to make any moves that would disrupt their squad harmony and depth.
