Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is being eyed by Newcastle United this summer.

Central midfield is set to be a main point of interest for the Magpies, with Eddie Howe keen to bring in a defensive anchor to allow Bruno Guimaraes to move further forward.

The North East club are conscious of remaining within Financial Fair Play boundaries, however, and may not be able to land a big-money priority such as Brighton ace Moises Caicedo.

McTominay could be allowed to leave United this summer as Erik ten Hag looks to trim the fat of his squad, and Howe is said to be an admirer of the Scotland international's 'experience and physicality', says The Athletic.
