Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is pleased with what he's seen from Davide Santon.

The former Inter Milan defender has gradually bedded down since his arrival last summer.

The Journal says Santon is being considered for a long-term future in the right-back role if the club cannot come to an agreement with Danny Simpson - who is yet to sign a new contract.
