Roma's new owners are ready to wrap up a deal for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.
After a successful loan last season in Italy, Smalling has returned to England with talks over a permanent deal having ground to a halt.
However, Il Tempo says a transfer is back on after the Friedkin Group bought Roma from James Pallotta last week.
United are seeking around £18m to sell Smalling - a fee well within range of Roma's new owners.
For his part, Smalling has made it no secret he wishes to return to the Giallorossi next season.
