Francisco succeeds Andoni Iraola after his departure for Bournemouth.

“We have known each other for many seasons. From before Iraola arrived. It is an enormous satisfaction. I got down to work to convince them that I could be the one who should be here.

“It is a challenge. I'm going to work to live up to Andoni. Continuity in Primera is difficult. That has allowed for results. It's the right place. I'm looking forward to experiencing it as a local. Hopefully I will go as I visualise."
