Former Napoli coach Bortolo Mutti says AC Milan should persist with Charles de Ketelaere.

The summer arrival from Club Brugge has struggled so far with the Rossonero.

Mutti told TMW: "The growth margins are enormous. He needs more time, but he's a talent. A player that we will find at high levels. The weight of the shirt and a team like Milan have held him back.

"However, I don't see a big problem, then it's up to him to find that character to give his best.

“For me he can also make the external striker, even if he is better behind the attacker because he is good at moving between the lines. Knowing how to play multiple roles for him would be an enrichment."
