Muhren fears for Van de Beek career: He needs to leave Man Utd

Former Manchester United and Ajax star Arnold Muhren is sorry seeing Donny van de Beek struggle at Old Trafford.

Van de Beek has battled to make an impression in his first season at United after arriving last summer from Ajax.

Muhren told De Telegraaf: "That midfield is really overcrowded. Bruno Fernandes plays in the position where Van de Beek comes into his best, and in my view he is one of the most important players of Manchester United.

"And then they also have Scott McTominay, Fred, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic for the midfield.

“It is said 'he has to get used to'. But nobody has to get used to that. The problem is that he gets too little time to play. At his age it is important to keep making minutes.

"If his perspective doesn't improve this summer, a departure might be the best solution for Van de Beek."
