Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has responded to the news that the club's all-time leading goalscorer Wayne Rooney would be committing his immediate future to Old Trafford, after reports suggested he could have been on his way to the Chinese Super League.
"Yes. He did in the right moment, the best moment, his statement," said Mourinho.
"The questions were the only questions he could answer. He did it in exactly in the right moment. That should be the last until the end of the season. He said he wants to help team fight for trophies, I said I would be happy for that.
"He is fine, he has been training with the team. He stayed at home this week so he could have one more important training sessions., No doubt he will be involved [in the EFL Cup final]."
