Mount fed-up with status at Chelsea; prepared to leave

Mason Mount is unsettled at Chelsea and disappointed with his contract status, it has been revealed.

The Daily Star says Mount has grown 'frustrated' and is feeling 'under appreciated' at Chelsea because of his treatment compared to other high-profile stars at the club.

The midfielder, who has been at Stamford Bridge since he was just six years old, believes he is still being treated as a youth team player in comparison to mega-money stars brought into the club in recent years.

And if the England midfielder's issues can't be settled, then ultimately he would be prepared to leave.

A source close to the player said: “Mason is a top lad and thought of well within Chelsea, and is popular with the team. But he isn't feeling appreciated anymore.

“He's been at Chelsea since he was a tiny lad, but despite coming up through the Academy, he doesn't feel like he gets the same treatment or recognition as players bought in for big money."

His current contract, worth £75k a week, makes him one of the lowest earners at Chelsea, with reports that a new deal would see him double his weekly wage.
