Former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison can understand Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang delaying new contract talks.

Aubameyang, 30, is said to have put contract talks with Arsenal on hold due to the uncertain future of manager Unai Emery.

“Do you blame him?" declared Morrison on Talksport.

“He's gone to Arsenal thinking they're going to challenge for the title, but they're not challenging for the title – I think they'll struggle to finish in the top four!

“He's gone there to win trophies, but what will they win this season? He's gone there to play Champions League football and he might not even do that!

“He's delivering on the pitch, he's scoring goals week-in week-out, but the club is not living up to his expectations.

“I think Arsenal are at a standstill. They haven't progressed and are still doing what they were doing under Arsene Wenger."
