Morgan de Sanctis is leaving his job as Salernitana sporting director.

The former Udinese goalkeeper has stepped down after the return of veteran Walter Sabatini.

De Sanctis said today: “I thank President (Daniele) Iervolino, the Club and all of Salerno for this year and a half spent together.

“I am proud to have contributed to the best championship in the history of Salernitana and I want to thank all the staff for the work done and for helping me in the work of growing and enhancing the Salernitana brand.

"I will remain forever linked to Salernitana and its fantastic fans and I wish the club to reach its goal of salvation.

"Forza Bersagliera!"
