Millwall plan Chelsea talks over Myers deal

Championship outfit Millwall are ready to appoint Joe Edwards as manager this week.

The England Under-20s coach is taking the job that the likes of former Southampton manager Nathan Jones and ex-Rangers boss Michael Beale were also seeking.

Per The Standard, he will slot in at Millwall to replace Gary Rowett, who lost his post last month.

The source also adds that Edwards is set to be joined by Andy Myers as his assistant.

The club will have to speak with Chelsea about securing Myers, but that is not thought to be a huge obstacle.

Edwards was a part of Chelsea's academy coaching staff and worked under Frank Lampard in the senior setup as well.
