Middlesbrough are among the teams chasing after Brentford striker Marcus Forss.
Their boss Chris Wilder is eager to add a new forward, as he has failed with bids for other strikers this summer.
Now they are looking at 23-year-old Fross, who was on loan at Hull City during the second half of last season.
He managed a goal and assist in 11 games for the club.
Brentford are likely to be willing to let him leave, at least on loan, as he is not in their immediate first team picture.
Forss is a 14-time Finland international.
