Middlesbrough are moving for Crewe Alexandra striker Nicky Maynard.
The Mirror says the £1million-rated striker, 21, scored 15 times last term in League One despite missing four months injured.
And Crewe believe Maynard can emulate Dario Gradi graduate Dean Ashton in the top flight.
