Middlesbrough are close to a £2 million deal for Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis.
The 28-year-old was out of favour with Harry Redknapp last season but Boro boss Gareth Southgate is a long-term admirer. Davis would join former team-mate Gary O'Neil at Boro.
