Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick is seeking a new centre-half signing for January.
Boro are seeking a replacement for Darragh Lenihan after he underwent an ankle operation.
Carrick is eyeing a raid on Nottingham Forest, where Joe Worrall is a target. The defender is available for loan, says The Sun.
Also on Carrick's radar is Leeds stopper Charlie Cresswell.
Cresswell, 21, is on the fringe of the Leeds side but they may be unwilling to help a promotion rival.
