Per Mertesacker insists it is vital for Arsenal to do everything they can to repair the damage done by their recent Champions League defeat to Monaco.
The Gunners were beaten 3-1 by the French side at the Emirates Stadium in the Round of 16 first leg last month and now face the monumental task of outscoring Les Rouges et Blancs by three goals on Tuesday night.
All the statistics are against the north Londoners but German centre-back Mertesacker is hoping they can produce a huge turnaround in order to preserve their pride.
"We have to cope with difficulties and criticism in our job but we have a good chance to repair that," Mertesacker said.
"We want to do better, we must make better decisions. We did things wrong, obviously.
"Can we learn from that and put in another performance? That is not going to be easy but we would like to show a different face of Arsenal."
Mertesacker added: " we have moved on and improved a lot, so that is why we are very confident, even away from home, we can beat any team in the world."
