Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker says the club's international scouts rate Germany as World Cup favourites.
The Gunners trio of Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski are all in Joachim Low's provisional squad ahead of the tournament.
"I can tell you that the scouting experts here at Arsenal, say to me Per, you want to do it I have the bookmaker my money set on you Germans," said the centre-back, speaking to De Zeit.
"Many of us are in the prime of their careers. After all those second and third-place finishes, the motivation is higher than the fear of failure.
"They [the nation] think we will go out to Spain or Italy, I know, but I don't share that feeling."
