Former Ireland boss Mick McCarthy is among the surprise contenders to become Blackpool's new manager.
The 63-year-old has not worked since leaving Cardiff City in October 2021.
However, after firing Michael Appleton seven months after hiring him, Blackpool are seeking a new boss.
Per the Daily Mail, McCarthy is a top candidate for the team with one win in the past 11 matches.
Manchester United coach Eric Ramsey is an option, while Tony Pulis is another.
The club may ultimately go for the experience of Pulis or McCarthy, while United would be reluctant to let Ramsey leave.
