Germany legend Lothar Matthaus cannot believe Jadon Sancho is sidelined in the England squad.
Sancho has lit up the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund in the past couple of seasons, showing why he made the move to Germany as a teenager from Manchester City.
The attacker has been restricted to substitute appearances in the three group games by manager Gareth Southgate at Euro 2020.
England take on Germany on Tuesday at Wembley in the round of 16.
"He was one of the best players in the Bundesliga for the last two years," Matthaus said about Sancho, per Goal.com.
"If he is not good enough for England, we would like to give him a German passport! It has surprised many in Germany."
Manchester United are believed to be close to signing Sancho after submitting a second offer with Dortmund.
