Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone was delighted to be part of their Capital One Cup win over Southampton.
Mannone stepped in for the injured Keiren Westwood and made his third appearance of the season as the Black Cats booked their place in the last eight.
"Yes, it was a very good game for us; we went into this game with the mentality to play a bit more and I think we managed it," he said.
"I've waited a long time for my game, but I waited for my chance and I was focused and I think I contributed to a good win for us."
