Manchester United are unlikely to make any new signings in the winter transfer window.
Chief executive Ed Woodward has revealed that financial figures are likely to hinder the club from making any serious moves in January following a big-spending summer which included expensive deals for the likes of Angel Di Maria, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind.
Woodward said in a conference call with investors that there will be no new players coming into Louis van Gaal's squad in the first month of the New Year.
"We are not looking to enter the market for short-term fixes," he said.
"However we have targets we are looking at for next summer and should any of those become available in January we would consider acting but we all need to recognise that is a low probability."
