Manchester United are aware that Raphael Varane is unhappy with his status at present.

The French centre half had expected to be a regular starter when he was fit this season.

However, manager Erik ten Hag has left him on the bench on several occasions lately.

Varane has fallen behind Harry Maguire as the right-sided centre back, as Ten Hag does not want either playing on the left side.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg claims Bayern are circling and would be interested in Varane.

Chelsea are another club who have been mentioned in connection with the Frenchman.

Plettenberg posted on X: “Understand that he would receive the light for a transfer in winter. But: #MUFC wants to sell him. A loan is not an option at the moment. Price valuation: €20-30m."
