Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan has emerged as a shock target for Manchester United, according to The Sun.
The Australian has impressed mightily this season, helping the Seagulls to four wins from 10 games.
Ryan's performances have alerted United, who are now secretly planning for life without David De Gea.
The Spaniard has yet to agree to an extension on his contract, which is set to expire at the end of next season.
PSG and Juventus have both registered an interest in the 27-year-old.
This has lead United to look at alternatives and they believe Ryan, who has kept three consecutive Premier League clean sheets, is ready to take the step up to a big club.
