Man Utd striker Weghorst: I know Ten Hag trusts me

Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst says he's happy with his loan.

The 30-year-old arrived on loan from Burnley in a shock January move and has become an integral part of Ten Hag's side.

Weghorst has only scored two goals since his arrival, but contributed to the Red Devils winning the Carabao Cup last month.

He told The Sun: "That's a lot of matches and it shows the trust in me. It also shows that I am doing a good job for the team.

"That was the thing I wanted when I came here – to contribute and try and help the club to be successful to win trophies.

"We have one now. We have two more to go with the Europa League and FA Cup, and we want to get as high as possible in the table and definitely top four for the Champions League.

"So it just shows me that I am being part of it. And being part of us being successful and that appreciation, that's a good thing."

Meanwhile, Holland coach Ronald Koeman believes Weghorst has the ability to start up front rather than come off the bench for his side. Dutch national coach Ronald Koeman believes Weghorst is a serious option to start up front"He is absolutely not a Plan B," Koeman said, as reported by Voetbal International. "In my first period that was the reason to choose Luuk de Jong and not Wout. But Wout has developed in such a way that he is a serious option. I see him as a striker, not as number ten."
