Man Utd striker Hojlund: I know Eriksen wants to play

Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund has sympathy for his countryman Christian Eriksen.

While Hojlund has become United's starting no.9 this season, Eriksen's role in midfield has shifted to a backup.

The veteran, who is now 32, wants to play regularly and may even leave United in the summer to do so.

Eriksen did come off the bench to help United to a 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup before the international break.

Hojlund told TV 2: “I myself have sat on the bench for FC Copenhagen, so I know what that means. But he holds his head high and he is a class player. There is absolutely no doubt about that.

“There is no concern at all from me about it. Of course, you want to play football. And I'm sure he does too. [But] he trains well and is still very positive and very helpful, so it's not a big deal. [Eriksen is] a real professional."
