Manchester United have set their price for Roma to sign permanently on-loan defender Chris Smalling.

Tuttosport says Roma will have to pay £18m for Smalling to seal a permanent deal.

Roma are keen on making Smalling's stay permanent, but United have put the price tag on the 29-year-old.

Smalling has spoken about enjoying playing in Serie A but has been coy on whether he'll stay for longer than the season-long loan.

And Roma are still to speak with United about making his stay permanent.
