Wolves manager Gary O'Neil is being targeted for a coaching role at Manchester United.

O'Neil has been hugely impressive with the Premier League club since taking over on the eve of this season.

Now ESPN is stating that Sir Jim Ratcliffe of United wants to speak to O'Neil about a coaching job.

The Red Devils want to have a head coach in the future and not a manager, which would reduce the individual's role in transfer and squad planning.

O'Neil is thought to be someone the club believes can fit in that role very easily.

United still have Erik ten Hag in charge, but he is hanging onto his job by a thread.
