Manchester United remain firmly in contention for Derby youngster Malcolm Ebiowei.

The 18 year-old has emerged as a top target for United, with Crystal Palace also keen.

United have been given a glowing reference by Derby boss Wayne Rooney.

Goal reports that the Red Devils remain 'very much in the hunt' for Ebiowei, who will be a free agent at the end of this month.

Derby, who were relegated to League One last season, have put forward a contract offer for Ebiowei.
