Manchester United have pulled back from opening talks over a new deal with Robin van Persie.ESPN says Van Persie will be made to wait for his new deal as the Red Devils plan which members of their bloated squad to keep.
The Dutchman is inside the final 18 months of his current deal.
Van Persie has struggled to replicate such form under both David Moyes and new boss Louis van Gaal and could be on his way out of the club when his current contract expires at the end of next season.
