Manchester United are eager to sign Monaco defender Axel Disasi this summer.

The Red Devils' manager Erik ten Hag is eager to add a new center half to his squad.

Per Fabrizio Romano, United and Newcastle are the two clubs assessing Disasi this summer.

United did want to sign South Korean star Kim Min-jae, but his €50 million release clause was triggered by Bayern Munich.

Disasi is a 25-year-old France international who has the qualities to succeed in the Premier League.

If he does come in to United, he would likely serve as backup behind Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

The Red Devils are likely to sell club captain Harry Maguire, who wants to play regularly.
