Manchester United are preparing to start talks over an improved deal for Lisandro Martinez.

The Argentine centre half has been absent through injury during the latter part of this season.

However, Martinez had established himself as first choice in defence for manager Erik ten Hag.

Per The Mail, United will reward Martinez for his excellent season with a pay rise and a longer contract.

The club want to ensure the defender is not a target for any other team, even as they target new signings.

The club may sign Napoli defender Kim Min-jae to replace England star Harry Maguire.
