Dutch pundit Mike Verweij can see Donny van de Beek returning to Ajax.

The midfielder is currently on-loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Manchester United.

“Maybe Donny van de Beek is just such a player as many Bodø/Glimt players. Who can only function at a certain club," Verweij said on De Telegraaf's podcast. “Maybe he doesn't need to be as fit in the Eredivisie as he does in the Bundesliga or Premier League."

“If he is fit and if Ajax takes the time to prepare him for the first one, then it might not be such a crazy signing.

"It has become an unpleasant story for him at Manchester United."
