Manchester United star Andreas Pereira insists that he can make a valuable contribution in the coming season.

Last term was the first occasion that Pereira got a consistent run of games in the first team.

Now he wants to step up his level, with the Brazilian aiming to fill the midfield void left by the departure of Ander Herrera, who has joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

When asked if he could replace Herrera, Pereira said to reporters: "Yeah, that is what I'm aiming to do.

"With the confidence from the manager, the staff, the board with the new contract, that is what I'm aiming to do and get games.

"I am very proud, me and my family as well, hopefully I can keep it up and show the manager I can do it."
