Man Utd to make opening offer for Juventus ace Vidal

Manchester United are stepping up their interest in Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal. The Daily Mail says United are ready to test Juventus' resolve with an opening bid for Vidal.

United are yet to make formal contact with Juventus but are understood to have made tentative enquiries to establish whether the Chilean, who so impressed at the World Cup, would be open to a move.

It is believed that United are encouraged by the signals coming from Vidal's camp and a move is appearing increasingly feasible this summer.

Juventus value Vidal in the region of £40m but United are hopeful that an offer of £30m plus the Portuguese winger Nani in exchange could persuade the Italian side. Patrice Evra is also a target for Juventus but United are reluctant to lose the Frenchman's experience and dressing-room influence.
