Sporting CP defender Nuno Mendes admits he's a fan of the Premier League.

The 18-year-old has been linked with Liverpool, who are keen to strengthen the left-back position.

Andrew Robertson is the clear first-choice but Jurgen Klopp could look to Mendes to provide support for the Scotland defender in the long run.

Manchester United have also been urged to move for Mendes by former Sporting star Nani.

The player's agent Miguel Pinho, who also represents Bruno Fernandes, has a good relationship with the Red Devils.

And that special relationship could help United sign Mendes, who said today: "I like the English league.

“My agents are in charge of this, whom I trust a lot. I saw the news, but I don't care. I want to play."
