As soon as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took the hot seat at Manchester United, his preferred striking option has been Marcus Rashford.
This has meant the long-term future of Romelu Lukaku has been thrown into doubt.
United only signed Lukaku in 2017 for a fee of £80 million, and 40 goals in two seasons doesn't seem to entice the new Norwegian manager. Senior officials at the club have apparently made it clear that he is free to leave the Red Devils should the right offer come in.
The issue there, according to HLN, is that few clubs would be willing to pay a hefty fee to United to acquire Lukaku's services.
As of now, the ideal solution is to play in the Serie A, but for that to happen, either Juventus and Antonio Conte's new club, Inter Milan, will have to make a significant effort to sign the attacker.
If not, there are chances he could still continue at Old Trafford, and if that happens, Lukaku will have to fight with Rashford for a place in the starting eleven.
