Wayne Rooney could one day join the likes of David Beckham, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard in moving from the Premier League to Major League Soccer.
The Manchester United captain admits a potential move across the Atlantic to the USA and Canada's burgeoning top flight could be on the cards once his career in England is over.
Beckham was the pioneer for his predecessors such as Thierry Henry and more recently Lampard and Gerrard, and England skipper Rooney is also contemplating the thought of making a similar splash.
"I'm obviously concentrating on Manchester United," Rooney said in an interview with the Seattle Times during his side's pre-season tour.
"When that time comes, that'll be something I'd think about. (I'll) sit down with my wife and children and decide if it would be right for me."
