Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.

United aim to takeover the Algerian's loan from AS Monaco before Friday's transfer deadline.

Gazzetta dello Sport's Nicolo Schira says United have been in discussions with Monaco and Leicester about a deal.

For his part, Slimani wants the move to happen and has urged Leicester to let him make the switch.

Monaco coach Robert Moreno has approved Slimani's departure, with the centre-forward not in his plans.
