Man Utd icon Scholes: Schweinsteiger still capable of bossing games

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is full of praise for Bastian Schweinsteiger.

After being frozen out during the first-half of the season by manager Jose Mourinho, the German has worked his way back into the squad since the New Year.

Scholes told Kicker: "It was strange in all events. But I found it remarkable how highly professional Bastian reacted by simply working on without complaining.

"Unfortunately, we do not know exactly what it was. Bastian was fantastic at Bayern and in the national team. His only problem was injuries, but in recent weeks he has trained quite normally.

"He can still control a game if you pick him, and I hope the manager picks him. The fans love Bastian, he is a very special player."
