Manchester United have been given the green light to speak to Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina.

United are looking to strengthen the midfield area after the departure of Ander Herrera and they have pinpointed the former Juventus man as the ideal candidate.

Southampton left Lemina out of their squad for a pre-season training camp in Austria.

It's been claimed that United could pick up the Southampton man for around £15million, says the Daily Express.

Arsenal were originally interested in Lemina back in 2017, when he was at Juventus.

Lemina has also been used as a centre-back, full-back and even a winger and his versatility could interest United.
