Man Utd fullback Dalot reports early to Carrington

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has made a swift return to the Carrington training complex after sustaining an injury at the World Cup.

The Manchester Evening News says Dalot reported at Carrington on Friday morning only six days on from Portugal's quarter-final elimination by Morocco.

Dalot was forced off with an apparent hamstring injury in the 79th minute and he is due to be assessed by United's medical staff today as part of his recovery.

United players who suffered ejection from the World Cup in the last eight are expected to return for training on Monday but the diligent Dalot is back three days early.

The 23-year-old had gone more than two years without injury prior to his removal at the Al Thumama Stadium and he has started 20 of United's 21 games so far this season. Dalot only missed the win at Fulham on November 13 through suspension.
