Manchester United face competition from Blackburn Rovers for Louis Laing.

The young Sunderland defender has been on trial at Manchester United and Blackburn over the last three weeks, with no shortage of admirers in the centre-half, says the Sunderland Echo.

The 21-year-old's time training at United came to an end on Friday, with Blackburn still considering handing him a contract at Ewood Park after impressing during a fortnight's trial with the Championship outfit.
