Manchester United are extending the contract of Jesse Lingard.
United have triggered the one-year extension clause in Lingard's contract.
The Old Trafford club were determined to ensure he did not leave for nothing in the summer and will now look to sell the England international, says the Daily Mail.
Lingard's contract will expire in 2022 but his future appears to be away from United, having failed to feature in either the Premier League and Champions League this season.
Lingard would have been able to negotiate with other clubs over signing with them in the summer of 2021 had United not activated the clause.
