Manchester United are eyeing Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo for the January market.
The Sun says United manager Erik ten Hag is seeing a right-sided centre-half and Todibo fits the bill.
United made an attempt over the summer, but the player chose to remain with Nice and bide his time.
A new opportunity is set to arrive in January for the 23 year-old, who is also seen at Chelsea as a successor for Thiago Silva.
However, United have the edge given imminent shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe also owns Nice.
Todibo has made 114 appearances for Nice since joining the French club on loan from Barcelona in February 2021, a move which was made permanent four months later.
