Man Utd coaching staff keen to welcome back Greenwood as probe continues

Mason Greenwood has been told he must sit out the season at Manchester United.

United are continuing their internal investigation after attempted rape and assault charges were dropped by Greater Manchester Police last month.

The Daily Mail says the England international is understood to have held extensive talks with United officials in recent weeks. Greenwood has told officials he's eager to return to training and stressed his commitment to remaining at Old Trafford, where he is under contract until 2025.

However, United will not rush their decision, knowing they will face a backlash if Greenwood does return to action, despite all charges being dropped.

It's claimed United's football staff say Greenwood should be given a new chance, while those on the commercial argue it could damage the club's reputation.
